Mali Re-Release
While steeped in some nostalgia recently, I decided to put out several of our Mali songs from back in the day. Some of these weren’t ever put out there, (including a very raw and energetic live version of Jesus, Precious Jesus) but most of them were recorded in 2004 for our only full length album entitled “Awakening”.
You can download the 18 songs here.

Merry Christmas Everyone
The fall was insanity. Flew by… So the infrequent blogging I spoke of to the left has been evident. It’s been since August that I’ve posted anything on the good ‘ole Tumblr blog. Microblogging is the way to go.
I love reading. What are you reading these days?

When To Retire a Worship Song
Bob Kauflin has a great post on when to retire a worship song. He has some excellent insights. Here were the thoughts that I particularly found to be very helpful:
“Most corporate worship songs won’t pass the ‘time test.’ That’s okay… It’s safe to say that in a hundred years we won’t be singing most of the songs we’re singing today on Sundays. Some will last one week,...
Vision Retreat
That’s a view of beautiful Pittsylvania county in the southern part of Virginia where the big city of Ringgold is located.
Pastor John and I are headed there tonight for a few days to think, pray, and plan for the upcoming season at Living Way Church. We would appreciate your prayers as we seek God for fresh vision and creativity.
It’s important to pull out of the busyness of day...

New Music
Hey gang. Started my summer Berklee class today. It’s a course in voice training. This will be the last course in my program. Looking forward to finishing it.
At the end of the course, I should be more able to sing with greater facility and awareness in the areas of breath control, idiomatic embellishment, pitch accuracy, rhythmic flexibility, and style. It will also cover diet and health...
D.O.S.E.
My dad always had this acronym growing up called DOSE. It was what we used to keep us on the track of productivity and feeling it’s benefits. Want to be more on the ball?
Discipline. Organize. Simplify. Energize.
Of course there are always seasons that are more difficult than others. And let’s not forget that it is all by God’s grace we can have any fruitfulness at all.

Mr. Tom Morse-Brown
Check out the new site of my graphic design friend, Tom Morse-Brown. Tom did some artwork for Mali back in 2004. I highly recommend him for graphic design of all kinds. Fantastic guy and excellent at what he does. Check out his new site here.
Pray Until You Pray
That’s what the Puritans said. I find that my A.D.D. seems to kick in the most when I start to pray. The day is rushing in with it’s many tasks and demands and I feel like my prayer is simply something to get through and check off my list.
I came across this great insight from D.A. Carson in his book A Call To Spiritual Reformation. This was such a helpful reminder:
“Our...
